Falcons Accept Bid to CIT, Will Play on Tuesday, March 17

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team has accepted a bid to play in the 2015 CollegeInsiders.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) and will play its first round game on Tuesday, March 17, on the road at Saint Francis (Pa.) in Loretto, Pa. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. ET.

The Falcons (20-11) will make its first postseason appearance since participating in the CIT back in 2012.

"We are disappointed that our season ended without winning a championship, but we are excited to be playing in the postseason," stated head coach Chris Jans. "We appreciate the CIT selection committee rewarding us with an invitation to their tournament."

BGSU is coming off its first 20 win season since 2001-02 and a fourth-place finish in the MAC, its best finish since the 2008-09 season.

The Falcons defeated Ball State in the first round of the 2015 MAC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament before falling to Eastern Michigan on Wednesday night in the second round at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

This season, the Red Flash of Saint Francis (16-15) posted a fifth-place finish in the NEC, its best in 10 years. The Flash defeated Mount St. Mary's in the NEC quarterfinals before falling at top-seeded St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday.

Saint Francis is coming off its first winning regular season in 10 years and owns victories over America East regular season champion Albany, Duquesne and Big Ten member Rutgers.

Tickets will cost $15 for the red seats, $10 for general admission and $5 for children.
