Sporting KC: Youngsters Shine in 2016 Beep Test
From Bowling Green to Kansas City, and now to Arizona for preseason. After being drafted by Sporting Kansas City, my mind was rattled. It was unbelievable at first finding out that I was drafted. I honestly didn't know what to think. Congratulations began to come my way and it started to become real and feel less like a dream.
After speaking to friends and family about this amazing news, I received a phone call asking if, in two days, I would be ready to head out to Kansas City. When I arrived in Kansas City, I got settled in and met my roommate. The next day physicals started and I began to meet some of the coaching staff and players. Before I knew it, I was off again and back to the airport for preseason in Arizona.
The first day of preseason began with the beep test, which right away challenged many players on the team. Meeting people isn't always the easiest, but slowly I'm learning more and more about the players and the team as a whole. A couple of days have gone by now with trainings and lifts. Although some days my body feels sore from all the running, I still wake up every morning excited that I have another day to do something I love.Â
