Falcons Prepare to Compete Against MAC Opponent
November 02, 2016 | Women's Swimming & Diving
Bowling Green, Ohio – The BGSU Falcons will compete against Mid-American Conference opponent, the Ball State Cardinals, this upcoming Friday, November 4, starting at 6 P.M. The meet will take place at the Cardinal's home pool, which is located in Muncie, IN.
The Falcons are coming off from a long weekend of racing, including a double dual meet against MAC opponent, the Miami RedHawks, along with Marshall University. The team's first double dual meet of the season was Talisa Lemke's time to shine. The freshman diver broke a school record and qualified for NCAA Zones in two events. Before this, however, the team had a dual meet against the University of Xavier, in which the swimmers broke three pool records at the Musketeers home pool.
Last season, Ball State University placed eight in the MAC. This year, the Cardinals were ranked at the same spot in the coaches' preseason poll. The Falcons placed third last season and were ranked fifth in the coaches' preseason poll.
Leading the program is head coach, Matt Ense, who commented "Friday will allow the women a chance to get back up on the blocks and diving boards again and compete under the lights on a Friday night against a tough MAC opponent. Ball State has a strong group of freshman that have joined the Cardinals this year and have strong depth in the stroke events and have been very strong on the boards in recent years. I am looking forward to seeing how the team responds from last weekend's competitions. We also have some new faces traveling for the first time so it will be great to see them on the road competing".
The order of events will be the following:
200 Medley Relay
1000 Free
