VENICE – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team visited the Ferrari Museum, took on the Vicenza All-Stars in the third game of the Cultural Immersion Tour of Italy, and traveled from Florence to Venice today (Aug. 14). On the court, the Falcons were defeated by a score of 88-87.
Each day, a member of the squad will break down the team's adventures, and recap the day. Today, senior guard Zack Denny – who hails from Germantown, Ohio – talked about the team's trip to the Ferrari Museum. Members of the team raced a virtual Ferrari, changed tires in a pit stop challenge, had the option to pay to ride an actual Ferrari, and toured the museum.
"The pit stop challenge was a really fun experience. You are competing against your teammates, and trying to change the tires as fast as you can. Not many of us have changed a tire like that, so it was really fun.
"The museum was great. Teammates were able to drive a Ferrari – something they've never been able to do before. The simulator was great, and we got to see things that you don't really get to see much. Everyone has really enjoyed it.
"Overall, we've been able to see a lot of landmarks that we've all learned about growing up. We get to see things in person, and learn more about the history. From a basketball standpoint, we are gelling as a team right now. We are playing well, and it's nice to get some games under our belt before the season comes, so hopefully we will be a step ahead."

With six seconds to play in the game, the Falcons had the ball, called a timeout and drew up a play. Antwon Lillard got the ball at the side of the key, drove to the basket and earned two free throws after driving into the lane. Lillard missed both free throws, but Ismail Ali knocked the ball off a Vicenza All-Star with 0.7 left on the clock. BGSU tried a lob, but it was defended well and the Falcons fell just short.
