His first punt of the game was his shortest, netting just 36 yards, but was fair caught at the 10-yard line. He then opened the second quarter with a booming 68-yarder that was downed at the 15-yard line. Davidson followed that up with a punt that sailed 60 yards in the air before being fair caught at the 12-yard line. In the second half, he added punts of 43 yards (to the 12-yard line), 40 yards, 39 yards, 44 yards and 49 yards (downed at the one-yard line).
On the season, Davidson ranks sixth in the country with 47.8 yards per punt. His career average of 44.6 yards per punt is the best in program history and he set the single-season punting average record a year ago at 46.0. Off the field, Davidson maintains a 3.95 grade point average and was an Academic All-American a year ago.
