Falcons Near The Top After Day One At Mountaineer Intercollegiate

STATISTICS AFTER DAY ONE
Bridgeport, WV – The Bowling Green State University men's golf team concluded round one at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate Invitational Monday evening. BG started round two but play was halted due to darkness and will resume this morning with the day ending with round three. The Falcons completed round one carding 290, +6. BG stands in second place out of 16 teams after round one and the start of round two.

· Rutgers leads the pack of 16 teams with 282, -5 closely trailed by the Falcons
· BGSU leads the MAC in the meet ahead of Akron (tied for fifth) and Ohio (15th place)
· Leading the 83-player meet is Akron's George Baylis carding 70, -2
BY THE NUMBERS (After first round completed and midway through round two)
· T12 – Pablo Heredia Iglesias (71, -1)
· T12 – Rodrique Vie (75, +3)
· T12 – Max Rispler (72, E)
· T18 – Trey Walker (72, E)
· T64 – Mitchell Kontak (76, +4)
INDIVIDUAL BREAKDOWN
· The Falcons hold a three way tie for 12th consisting of Pablo Heredia Iglesias, Rodrigue Vie and Max Rispler
· Vie off to a good start with four birdies in the first round and six so far in the second
· Heredia Iglesias also looks strong for the Falcons with seven birdies overall
· Rispler stayed consistent throughout the first two rounds shooting six birdies overall
· Heredia Iglesias, Vie and Rispler are tied for second in the MAC following meet leader George Baylis of Akron
· Trey Walker sits tied for 18th with an even par 72, continuing to improve since the start of the fall season
· Mitchell Kotak is tied for 64th with 76 (+4) shooting three birdies and seven bogies so far almost through the end of round two
