BGSU Announces Promotions For Saturday’s Football Game

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The BGSU Department of Athletics has announced its promotions ahead of Saturday's (Oct. 21) football game versus Northern Illinois at 2 p.m. at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Below is a breakdown of the giveaways, events and activities that will take place throughout the game.
PINK GAME
* Part of the ticket proceeds will be donated to The Maurer Family Cancer Care Center.
* A pink ribbon decal will be on the BGSU helmets, and BGSU players will also be wearing various pink accessories.
* Pink ribbons will be sported by the BGSU coaching staff.
* The first 400 fans will receive a pink bandana from Kroger (game sponsor).
STUDENT PROMOTIONS
* Ziggy Point Event
* First 100 students will receive a free t-shirt and be a part of the fan tunnel.
* Free student parking.
* Free food will be given to the first 150 students at the tailgate area (behind west tickets booth).
* Student 50-50-50 is up to $150.
* A student will have the opportunity to kick a 25-yard field goal to win Coca-Cola for a year.
BEST TAILGATER COMPETITION
* Fans who wish to show off their cooking and tailgating skills can enter into the Best Dish and Best Side category by clicking on the link (CLICK HERE).
* A panel of judges will attend your tailgate prior to kickoff to sample food and determine a winner.
* The winner(s) will be invited back to the Battle of I-75 Nov. 15 when BGSU hosts Toledo for an on field recognition as well as sideline passes! Also, the winner will receive $25 gift certificates to Buffalo Wild Wings and Meijer, proud corporate sponsors of BGSU Athletics.
* To enter the contest click on the link (CLICK HERE) and fill out the form! A representative from BGSU Athletics will be in contact with you within 24 hours after registering.
BAND DAY
* A total of six high school bands from around the area will be in uniform at the game.
* The schools coming: Wadsworth, Chardon, Lorain, Findlay, Sandusky and Danbury (around 700 students from Northern Ohio).
* The bands will join the Falcon Marching Band at halftime for a Mass Band Halftime Extravaganza, performing: West Side Story (Tonight/America), St. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band, and Ay Zig.
* The bands will be seated in the east side bleachers during the game.
FALCON MARCHING BAND
* Pre-Flight with the Falcon Marching Band will take place 65 minutes before kickoff.
* The halftime show, as performed by the FMB, is called "Anniversaries."
* The Falcon Marching Band will perform with the high school bands at halftime.
* Following the game, the band will perform the 5th Quarter.
TAILGATE PARK AND KID ZONE
* Falcon Tailgate Park will open at 11 a.m.
* Free food for the first 150 students at the tailgate (behind the west ticket booths)
* The kid zone will have inflatables and face painting.
FRATERNITY & SORORITY LIFE CHALLENGE
* The game is another event on the BGSU Fraternity and Sorority Life Challenge schedule.
* BGSU fraternity and sororities will be competing against each other to see which group can attend the most BGSU athletic events.
* This year-long challenge will award $5,000 to the winner.
