BGSU will induct five Falcons as members of the 51st class of the Athletics Hall of Fame. Ginny (McGee) Beneke, Liz (Vrabel) Knoblauch, Chuck McCampbell, Curt Miller and Nolan Reimold will bring membership in the Athletics Hall of Fame to 235 individuals. Two teams (the 1983-84 national championship hockey team and the 1959 national championship football Falcons) are also in the Hall of Fame.
Beneke competed in lacrosse and field hockey for the Falcons from 1972-76. Her teams went a combined 32-9 over four years and she was a four-time United States Women's Lacrosse Association (USWLA) National All-Star. In field hockey, Beneke was selected to the All-Buckeye Team in 1974.
Knoblauch played softball at BGSU from 2003-06 and finished her career as the program's career pitching leader in wins, strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings, shutouts and appearances. In her tenure, the program's 126 wins were the most in a four-year span in program history. As a junior, she was MAC Pitcher of the Year.
McCampbell played basketball and competed in track and field from 1956-59 for the Falcons. He was captain of the 1958-59 men's basketball team, the first BGSU men's basketball MAC Championship squad. He guided the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in BGSU history and was also the 1958 MAC runner-up in the discus.
Miller coached the women's basketball team from 2001-12, winning eight straight MAC Divisional titles and seven outright league regular season crowns. The 2007 team was perhaps the greatest in program history, advancing to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen as the No. 7 seed, defeating No. 10 Oklahoma State and No. 2 Vanderbilt along the way. Miller was a six-time MAC Coach of the Year.
Reimold played baseball for the Falcons from 2003-05 and was the 2005 MAC Baseball Player of the Year and an All-American. He earned 2005 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-America Second Team honors and ABCA Third-Team All-America accolades. In that amazing 2005 season, Reimold hit .360 with 20 homers, 62 RBI and 51 runs scored. That followed a .404 batting average as a sophomore.
