Redding, Fahey Named Jet's Pizza Athletes Of The Week
October 09, 2017 | Football, General, Women's Golf
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Teo Redding and women's golfer Erin Fahey.
Male Athlete of the Week
Teo Redding, a redshirt senior from Warren, Mich., had career highs with eight catches for 197 yards and two touchdowns in Bowling Green's 37-29 win at rival Miami Saturday. Redding was unstoppable in the victory, recording a 43-yard reception on the first offensive play of the game and then scoring on a 75-yard catch on the first play of the second half. Redding's second touchdown was a 28-yard fourth quarter reception that put the Falcons ahead for good, 30-29.
Female Athlete of the Week
Erin Fahey, a junior from Austin, Texas, earned MAC Golfer of the Week honors for her play at the 2017 KZoo Classic (Oct. 2-3). Fahey led BGSU to a 20-stroke victory, capping off the tournament by winning a one-hole playoff to secure the first individual championship of her collegiate career. The field, which included six total schools and five MAC schools, was hosted by Western Michigan. Fahey carded a season-low 224 to capture the title, which included rounds of 75, 71 and 78. The victory for Fahey marked the first individual win for a Falcon women's golfer in over three years.
