BGSU Football To Play Two Games At Minnesota

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University and the University of Minnesota have announced an agreement to play two football games at TCF Bank Stadium. The teams will play Sept. 25, 2021 and Sept. 6, 2025.
BGSU and Minnesota have met three times and the Golden Gophers have earned a pair of wins. Minnesota won the first meeting at home in 1986, 31-7. In 2007, Bowling Green won a 32-31 overtime thriller in the Metrodome when the Falcons decided to go for the win, trailing 31-30. Quarterback Tyler Sheehan connected with wide receiver Freddie Barnes on a two-point conversion to seal the victory. In 2008, the two teams played in Doyt L. Perry Stadium and Minnesota won 42-17.
Bowling Green currently has four non-conference games scheduled for the 2021 season, opening the year Sept. 4 at Tennessee. BGSU will host South Alabama a week later and then play at Louisiana Tech on Sept. 18. The Minnesota game will round out the non-conference slate.
The BGSU/Minnesota game in 2025 is the first scheduled non-conference game for the Falcons in that season.
