BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Sophomore Dylan Frye nailed a three-pointer with 0.9 seconds left in regulation to lift the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team to an 83-80 victory over Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday (Nov. 18) evening at the Stroh Center.
Frye's triple ended FGCU's 10-game road winning streak, which was the second-longest active streak in the country. Florida Gulf Coast went 28-6 last season, won the Atlantic Sun, played in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, and returned four starters for this season.

Four Falcons scored in double figures, led by redshirt-freshman Justin Turner's final line of 20 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Frye posted 15 points, six rebounds and two assists, while junior Demajeo Wiggins registered 14 points and seven rebounds.
Sophomore Rodrick Caldwell finished with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting, and freshman Derek Koch added nine points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Bowling Green hosts Lake Erie College on Monday (Nov. 10) night at 7 p.m.
THE FINAL MOMENTS
• With 3:02 to play, Derek Koch hauled in an offensive rebound, and scored a layup, giving Bowling Green a 75-74 advantage.
• Dylan Frye then pulled down a defensive rebound, was fouled, and hit two free throws, pushing the lead up to 77-74 with 2:46 to play.
• After a flurry of defensive stops for both teams, Bowling Green broke the FGCU press, and Matt Fox found Frye for a wide-open transition three-ball in front of the BGSU bench. He nailed it to give the Falcons an 80-74 lead with just 1:17 to play.
• Brandon Goodwin was fouled on the ensuing FGCU possession, and knocked down a pair of freebies, pulling the Eagles within four with 57 seconds to play.
• After a Bowling Green turnover, Christian Terrell scored a layup with 44 seconds left, drawing the Eagles within two points, 80-78.
• After BGSU missed two free throws, Zach Johnson was fouled and tied the game at 80-80 with six seconds to go with a pair of made free throws.

• Bowling Green shot 40.0 percent (6-for-15) from downtown, and limited the Eagles to a 6-for-23 (26.1 percent) mark from three-point land.
• Bowling Green out-rebounded FGCU, 46-42, despite trailing in the statistic at the half, 27-22. BGSU had 12 offensive rebounds compared to FGCU's 11.
• Bowling Green shot 14 more free throws than the Eagles, and made nine more foul shots. The Falcons went 23-of-33 (69.7 percent) at the line, while FGCU went 14-for-19 (73.7 percent).
• FGCU has what is widely considered the top backcourt in mid-major basketball, and one of the top backcourts in the nation with Brandon Goodwin and Zach Johnson. The two combined to shoot 6-of-26 (23.0 percent), and had eight combined turnovers. Goodwin went 4-for-16, while Johnson went 2-for-10.

• Frye has made multiple triples in all three games this season. He now has 13-career games with multiple triples.

• Rodrick Caldwell scored in double figures for the second-straight game, as he went 5-for-10 on field goal attempts, scoring 11 points and also adding a rebound and an assist.
• Derek Koch finished just one point shy of his second-straight double-double. However, he still had a strong showing with nine points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
• Nelly Cummings, after scoring eight points last game, scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting. He also chipped in with an assist and one rebound.
• Daeqwon Plowden added six points and three rebounds. He had a crazy put-back slam in the first half.
• Joniya Gadson had three blocks and one rebound in three minutes.
• In 17 minutes, Matt Fox recorded four rebounds and three assists.
