BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team picked up an 83-53 victory over Capital University in exhibition play on Thursday (Nov. 2) evening inside of the Stroh Center. The game will be the program's lone exhibition before the start of the regular season next week.
The Falcons led, 41,25, after the first half, and held Capital to 34.9 percent shooting for the game. The Falcons were led by Dylan Frye's 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, and Demajeo Wiggins' 17 points and 13 rebounds. Rodrick Caldwell and Justin Turner also scored in double figures for the Orange and Brown.
FALCON FACTS
• The game marked the second-straight season that BGSU opened up the season with a home exhibition versus Capital. Last season, BGSU downed the Crusaders, 71-56.
• Bowling Green shot 52.5 percent (31-of-59) from the field, 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from downtown, and 62.5 percent (15-of-24) from the charity stripe.
• The Falcons shot 57.7 percent (15-of-26) in the first half.
• The Falcons held Capital to 34.9 percent (22-of-63) shooting for the game, and a 7-of-31 (22.6) mark from three-point range.
• The Falcons racked up 16 assists, and only committed nine turnovers.

• Dylan Frye scored 21 points in 25 minutes. Last season, Frye scored 20-plus points in three regular-season games.
• Demajeo Wiggins went 6-for-9 from the floor, adding 17 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and one block. Wiggins registered a team-high six double-doubles last season.
• Rodrick Caldwell went 5-for-6 from the floor, and also a perfect 1-for-1 on three-balls and free throws. Caldwell posted 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
• Justin Turner played an extremely balanced game for the Falcons, racking up 11 points, five assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block. He went 4-for-8 from the floor.
• Nelly Cummings, in 17 minutes, added six points, three assists and three rebounds.
• Matt Fox hit a pair of triples to finish the game with six points, four rebounds, two steals and one block.
• Daeqwon Plowden chipped in with three points, four rebounds, one block and one steal.
• Derek Koch hit a three-ball to start the game, and contributed in many facets. He scored four points, while also recording three assists, three rebounds and two steals.
• Jeffrey Uju converted an and-one layup, and hit the free throw, finishing with three points and a steal.
• Ethan Good, Joniya Gadson and walk-on DeAndre' Austin also saw playing time.
