Richaun Holmes Garnering National Attention With NBA Success

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Former Bowling Green State University men's basketball player, Richaun Holmes, has been garnering national attention recently with his excellent play with the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association. Holmes, a second-round pick of the 76ers in 2015, was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2014-15, and remains BGSU's all-time leader in blocked shots.
In the month of March, which spans 11 games, Holmes is averaging 13.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks for Philadelphia. In that time, he's shooting 62.5 percent from the floor, 36.8 percent from downtown, and 72.7 percent from the charity stripe. For the season, Holmes is averaging 8.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks. In just his second NBA season, Holmes has already played in 96 games.
Recently, Holmes has taken his game to another level. In nine of his last 14 games, he's scored in double figures, and in 11 of those games, he's registered at least five rebounds. In his last game, which took place on March 20 at Orlando, Holmes posted 24 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. It was the second time in six games that Holmes had scored 24 points.
