Anderson, Parker Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Tyler Anderson and softball player Brooke Parker.
Male Athlete of the Week
Tyler Anderson, a junior from Lima, Ohio, led the BGSU baseball team to a series-opening victory over Toledo on April 8. The right-hander pitched a career-best 7.1 innings, and recorded a season-high five strikeouts. He issued just two walks, and picked up his second win on the season. He lowered his ERA to 2.96 on the season with his stellar start.
Female Athlete of the Week
Brooke Parker, a sophomore from Batavia, Ohio, went 2-0 with an ERA of just 0.50 last week as the Falcons began the home portion of the schedule with a 4-1 mark. Parker posted complete-game victories in each of her two starts on the week, allowing just 11 hits and one walk in 14 innings and allowing opponents to hit just .212 against her. Parker fired a complete-game shutout vs. Miami on Tuesday, allowing just four hits, all singles. Then, on Saturday, Parker allowed just one earned run and seven hits in another complete-game victory, as part of BGSU's weekend sweep of the Eastern Michigan series.
