Men's Golf Completes Kepler Intercollegiate with Low Round

Final Results
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Bowling Green men's golf program concluded the regular season with a 54-hole score of 930, +78 at the Ohio-State hosted Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The Falcons placed in a tie for 12th overall by tallying 139 par scores and 20 birdies throughout the two-day tournament and closed out with a low round of 308.
Leading the Falcons was senior Brett Rinker, who finished in a tie for 40th overall in a field of 81 players by a score of 232, +19. A native of Slippery Rock, Pa., Rinker finished on top of the Bowling Green lineup for the third time this season by accruing 29 pars and three birdies and remained consistent throughout the tournament by carding an opening round of 74, followed by a pair of 79s.
In Sunday's third and final round, redshirt sophomore Max Rispler marked a round 77 for a total score of 233, +20. The Grand Rapids, Mich. native tallied a team-leading eight birdies through 54-holes of competition, in addition to 23 par scores. Rispler also posted an even 5.00 average on par 5 scoring.
In his third appearance in the Bowling Green lineup, sophomore Trey Walker rounded out the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate with an 18-hole score of 76 for a two-day total of 234, +21. A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Walker marked a team-leading 32 par scores in addition to earning a new season-best round of 75 in the opening round of action.
Leading the Falcons in par 5 scoring with an average of 4.89, -1 was senior Jose Narro. The Tampico, Mexico native finished with a total score of 237, +24 and improved his score with each round of action, ultimately finishing with a round of 76 in Sunday's play. Narro also earned a total of 28 par scores as well as three birdies.
Rounding out the Bowling Green lineup with a total score of 240, +27 was sophomore Pablo Heredia Iglesias. Heredia Iglesias, a native of Sevilla, Spain, completed the tournament with a round of 79 and four birdies, in addition to 27 pars.
Up next, the Bowling Green men's golf program will take on the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships in Nashport, Ohio from April 28 through April 30.
