Broncos Bounce Back To Beat BGSU, 4-3

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team lost to Western Michigan University, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at Keefe Courts on the BGSU Campus ending the regular-season for the Falcons. Antonina Farrar and Leeah Floyd were recognized prior to the match for contributions to the tennis team.
"I'm proud of how hard we fought and ended our regular season today," head coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "Incredible doubles play from both teams and intense singles effort on every court. I'm lucky to have such a hardworking and dedicated group!"
BG earned the doubles point thanks to the efforts of sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash as well as sophomore Polina Radeva and freshman Ayumi Sasaki.
BGSU got things rolling early with a dominant performance on court two in doubles from Radeva and Sasaki. The duo beat sophomore Denise Azcui and senior Barbare Eristavi, 6-1.
The Orange and Brown wrapped up the point on court one after Comella and Tavpash defeated sophomore Melina Lyubomirova and senior Tracy Kuhle, 6-4. With the win, improve to 10-7 on the season.
In singles action, the Falcons were quick to get another team point from Comella's 6-4, 6-0 win over Lyubomirova on court one. Sasaki picked up her second win of the weekend by defeating Azcui in straight sets on court five, 7-6(12), 6-2. After forcing the third set, Radeva fell 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 to Kuhle.
Following this weekend's matches, the league's top-six team will prepare for the 2017 MAC Championships, which will be held in Muncie from April 28-30.
