Parker Settle Promoted To Video Coordinator
July 18, 2017 | Men's Basketball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program and head coach Michael Huger announced today (July 18) that Parker Settle has been promoted to video coordinator. Settle served as the program's graduate assistant during the 2016-17 season.
"I am excited to promote Parker Settle to our Video Coordinator position. Parker spent last season as our Graduate Assistant and did a tremendous job," said Huger. "He is a student of the game, an incredibly hard worker and a bright, young rising coach. When looking to fill this spot on my staff, I wanted someone who fit our philosophy of attitude, commitment and class, and Parker was an easy choice.
"He is well liked by our players and staff, has great family ties to Bowling Green, and is a terrific representative of our great University and program. Parker shares our vision and drive to win MAC Championships and develop first-class student athletes. I have full confidence he will thrive in this elevated role."
As video coordinator, Settle is responsible for developing and assembling opponent scouting reports. He keeps an up-to-date and accurate playbook, records practices for future use, assists with recruiting logistics, and finds clips to further player development. He also will track defensive efficiency during games, and play a larger role with kid's camps and Junior Falcons.
"I'm very grateful to Coach Huger and the rest of the staff for the opportunity to serve as our video coordinator," commented Settle. "I'm enthusiastic about the future of Falcon basketball, and this is a great staff and team to work with and learn from."
Settle, who started his Masters in Sport Management at BGSU last year, will continue to work on finishing his degree. Last season, as a GA, Settle assisted with scouting reports, and helped the coaching staff by performing demonstrations and drills during practice, among other duties.
Settle is a 2016 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, while minoring in Sport Administration at UC. At Cincinnati, Settle played a key role as a student manager on a number of highly-successful Bearcat teams. Settle currently resides in Bowling Green.
