SETTING THE SCENE
• Bowling Green and Michigan State kick off the 2017 season Saturday at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Mich. The contest is slated for a 12:00 pm kickoff and will be televised on ESPNU and WatchESPN.
• BGSU and Michigan State have met twice previously, with the Spartans picking up 28-17 (in 2007) and 10-7 (in 1981) wins.
• Each of the previous two meetings were played in East Lansing.
• BGSU has won the last two games it has played in the state of Michigan, defeating Northern Illinois 34-14 in Ford Field in Detroit for the 2015 MAC Championship and defeating Western Michigan 41-27 in 2015.
• BGSU is 3-2 against Big Ten opponents dating back to 2014, earning wins over Indiana, Maryland and Purdue.
