January 30, 2018 | Women's Track and Field
Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green sophomore Elizabeth Iversen has been named the Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week. Iversen set personal bests in both the weight throw and the shot put at the Findlay Elite Throws meet Saturday.
Iversen ranks second in the MAC in both events after her performance Saturday. She climbed to No. 15 nationally in the weight throw with a personal best distance of 20.66m (67-feet-9.5). That mark ranks as the third-best performance in school history. She also set a PR in the shot put, throwing 15.59m (51-1.75). She moved into fourth place on the school's all-time leaderboard in that event.
Iversen is the second consecutive Falcon to be named the Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week. Teammate Aliyah Gustafson earned the award a week ago after breaking the school record in the shot put and moving to eighth nationally.
