BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball program defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes in three sets to improve to an overall record of 10-8, and 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons have swept opponents in five different occasions this season.

COACH TOMIC QUOTE:
"I told the team that the best way to bounce back after a loss is to win, and we did that. I feel much better than last Saturday. We had a tough loss at home, and we had a good week of practice; we changed some things in our lineup, and everybody did their job.

Our offense was very good, [this was] one of our better offensive games. Katelyn Meyer, our freshman outside, had probably the best match of her career; 14 kills, no errors. She'll just get better and better."

HIGHLIGHTS
• The Falcons were efficient in their attack throughout the entire match, ending the match with a team hitting percentage of .330. The Falcons outscored Kent State by 11 points in the first set for a.448 hitting percentage; the team was hitting at .387 in the second set, and .209 in the third.
• Jessi Holly was seen all over the court, ending the match with eight kills, nine digs, three service aces, and two assists.
• From 33 attempted attacks, freshman Katelyn Meyer recorded 14 kills with zero errors for .424 hitting percentage.
MATCH LEADERS
• Katelyn Meyer and Jessi Holly led the team in points, with 14.0 and 12.0
• Isabelle Marciniak recorded 30 assists, five kills, and eight digs throughout the match
• Kallie Seimet was held to just fifteen digs in three sets for a digs per set average of 5.0.

UP NEXT
After consecutive weekends of home matches, the Falcons will travel north to face Central Michigan on Oct. 11, and Eastern Michigan on Oct. 13. When the Falcons return from Michigan, the team will host four straight matches in the Stroh Center before the remaining matches in the 2018 regular season are played on the road.
