Falcons, Rockets Light Up Scoreboard For Battle Of I-75

Toledo, Ohio – Bowling Green and Toledo added another chapter to the Battle of I-75 rivalry Saturday at The Glass Bowl. The Rockets used a three-touchdown spurt early in the fourth quarter to come away with a 52-36 victory.
After falling behind 17-0 in the first quarter, the Falcons recovered to get within a field goal at 17-14 and 24-21 by the half. BGSU trailed 31-28 after three quarters but Toledo scored three touchdowns in a span of 6:25 to earn the victory.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
- Andrew Clair posted the sixth 100-yard rushing game of his career, passing the century mark before halftime. He finished with 12 carries for 118 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Clair added five catches for 74 yards and a receiving TD as well.
- Jarret Doege passed for 289 yards and three touchdowns.
- Scott Miller and Quintin Morris also caught touchdown passes. Miller had a team-high 75 yards receiving.
- Clair scored all three of his touchdowns in the first half. He had back-to-back rushing touchdowns of 15 and 60 yards as the Falcons closed to within three after falling behind 17-0.
- After Toledo pushed the lead to 24-14, Clair had a 61-yard touchdown reception to get BG within a field goal again at 24-21.
- Bowling Green outgained Toledo 481-472 for the contest and finished with 20 first downs.
- Wide receiver Jordan Wayne-Prather and offensive lineman Matt Tanner earned their first career starts.
- BG was a perfect 2-for-2 in the red zone.
DEFENSIVE NOTES
- Jerry McBride III led the defensive effort with 11 tackles, while Kholbe Coleman added 10 and Brandon Harris nine.
- The Falcons had three pass break-ups and three quarterback hurries.
- While Toledo scored 17 points in the first quarter, the two touchdown drives were less than 40 yards each after a blocked punt and a fumble recovery. The BG defense then held UT to just one touchdown in each the second and third quarters.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
- Grant Tinnerman had a career-long 55-yard punt. The Toledo returner ran backwards eight yards for a net 63 yarder.
