Falcon Volleyball's Run In MAC Tournament Ends In Semifinal Loss To Eastern Michigan

OXFORD, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball program's run in the 2018 MAC Tournament came to an end after being defeated in their semifinal match versus Eastern Michigan. The Eagles picked up decisive wins in the first, second, and fourth sets to defeat the Falcons three sets to one.
Set #1: 13-25 Set #2: 14-25 Set #3: 25-23 Set #4: 20-25
HIGHLIGHTS
• The Eagles were a much more efficient team on offense. Eastern Michigan as a team ended the match with 20 more kills than the Falcons (62-42).
• Eastern Michigan setters Riley Taylor and Mallory Rajewski controlled the match with the help of outside hitter Jordan Smith and right side Cassie Haut. Taylor, Rajewski, Smith, and Haut posted a combined total of 59 assists and 35 kills for the Eagles.
• The Eagles opened the first set on a six-point scoring run before the Falcons were able to respond and get a point of their own.
• Junior Jessi Holly was the only Falcon to reach double digits kills with 13. Katelyn Meyer and Celena Kanagin came close with nine kills each.
• The Eagles held freshman Katelyn Meyer to an average of .093 in hitting efficiency. Meyer totaled nine kills and five attack errors from 43 attempted kills.
• The Falcons out-blocked the Eagles 15-10, but it clearly was not enough to win the match.
FALCON STANDOUTS
• Jessi Holly led the Falcon's attack with 13 kills. Katelyn Meyer (9) and sophomore Katie Kidwell (9) contributed a combined total of 18 kills.
• Kallie Seimet averaged 8.25 digs per set versus Eastern Michigan. The libero registered 33 digs over four sets
• Isabelle Marciniak earned her 11th double-double of the season. The setter finished with 22 assists and 14 digs.

The Falcons must wait until Nov. 25 to find out if they receive a bid for the National Invitational Volleyball Championship.
