Bowling Green, Ohio – The Buffalo football team earned a trip to the Mid-American Conference Championship game Friday, defeating Bowling Green 44-14 in the final game of the 2018 season for the Falcons. Buffalo improved to 9-3 with the win and clinched the MAC East Division. BGSU finishes the year with a record of 3-9 overall and 2-6 in MAC play. The loss snapped Bowling Green's two-game win streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bowling Green and Buffalo exchanged first quarter touchdowns and the game was tied at 7-7. After Buffalo's Jared Patterson scored the first of his two touchdowns, Scott Miller caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Jarret Doege to tie the score.
- Buffalo then scored the final 27 points of the first half, including three second-quarter touchdowns.
- The Bulls extended the lead to 44-7 before Grant Loy found Miller for a 63-yard touchdown pass for the final 44-14 score.
OFFENSIVE NOTES
- Scott Miller finished his career with four catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Miller ends the season with 1,148 yards – the third most in a single-season in program history. Only Freddie Barnes (1,770 yards in 2009) and Roger Lewis (1,544 yards in 2015) had more.
- Miller's two touchdowns give him 23 receiving touchdowns in his career, tying him with Roger Lewis for sixth in program history.
- Miller also climbed to ninth all-time at BGSU in all-purpose yards (3,736) and tied for third in career receptions (215).
- Jarret Doege's touchdown pass was his 27th of the season, moving him into a tie for fourth in school history in a season. It was also his 39th career touchdown pass, moving him into a tie for eighth all-time in that category – tied with Erik White.
- Grant Loy was 1-for-1 passing for 63 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball five times for 36 yards.
DEFENSIVE NOTES
- Brandon Harris closed his career with 19 tackles in the game, giving him 131 in a season. That's the most for a BGSU defensive player since Austin Valdez recorded 141 in 2015.
- Harris added a pass break-up and a quarterback hurry.
- Jonah Harper concluded his career with a career-best eight tackles. He also blocked an extra point.
- Senior Clint Stephens recorded the 11th interception of his career.
- Junior Jerry McBride and freshman Caleb Biggers each had nine tackles in the contest. For Biggers, it is a career-high.
- Freshman Jevon Henderson posted a career-best five tackles and redshirt freshman Walter Haire posted the first tackle of his career.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
- Redshirt sophomore Matt Naranjo punted six times for an average of 45.0 yards per punt. He had a career-long 72 yarder, landing one punt inside the 20.
- Nate Needham was a perfect 2-for-2 on extra points, concluding the season 34-for-34.
- Bowling Green allowed one punt return for zero yards. The Falcons entered the game allowing just 1.36 yards per punt return to rank fourth in the country.
