CLEVELAND, Ohio – Justin Turner, a redshirt-sophomore guard on the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday (Nov. 26) afternoon. Turner shares the honor within the division with Kent State's CJ Williamson.

In a come-from-behind win over Hampton, Turner registered 21 points and four assists. After scoring 11 points the following night at Detroit Mercy to earn Legends Classic All-Tournament Team honors, the native of Detroit concluded his week with a career performance. In a win over Drexel, Turner recorded 29 points, a career-high 11 rebounds, and a season-high six assists. Turner has scored 20-plus points in four games in 2018-19.
Turner ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring, averaging 18.7 points per game. The redshirt-sophomore guard is averaging a career-best 4.9 rebounds, and ranks 13th in the league in assists (3.3 APG).
Bowling Green has now had a division player of the week in consecutive weeks, as senior forward Demajeo Wiggins earned the honor last week. The Falcons play at Hartford on Dec. 1 in West Hartford, Connecticut. Tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
