WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team lost at the University of Hartford, 76-63, on Saturday (Dec. 1) afternoon inside Chase Arena in West Hartford, Connecticut. Senior forward Demajeo Wiggins surpassed 1,000 career points during the game, becoming the 45th player in school history to net 1,000 points.
Wiggins notched his seventh double-double of the season, as he finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds. He currently sits with 1,009 career points, which ranks 44th in BGSU history.
Redshirt-sophomore guard Justin Turner scored a team-high 17 points. Junior guard Dylan Frye was Bowling Green's third player in double figures scoring. Frye drilled three triples to finish with 10 points. Senior guard Antwon Lillard contributed with nine points, while sophomore forward Daeqwon Plowden added six points and five rebounds.
Junior guard Michael Laster posted four points, four rebounds and three assists. Redshirt-senior forward Jeffrey Uju, junior forward Marlon Sierra and redshirt-freshman forward Matiss Kulackovskis scored two points apiece.
Hartford went a historic 23-of-24 from the free throw line. The Hawks scored 20 points off 18 Bowling Green turnovers.
