Falcon Swimming And Diving Remain In Third After Day Two Of Zippy Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team remain in third place in the Zippy Invitational, with an updated total of 873 points. Akron continue to lead with 1515.5 points; Buffalo trail in second with 980 points.

Daisy Platts tied Sadie Fazekas (Akron) for first place in the 100-yard backstroke final. Both swimmers finished with a time of 53.68.
Overall, the Falcons finished in the first five in nine events, and in the top ten in eight events.

FIRST-FIVE FALCONS
• In the 200-yard medley relay final, Platts, Nikki Borgerding, Sarah Hennings, and Franziska Wohlert placed in fifth with a finish time of 1:42.15.
• Hennings placed in third in both the final and prelims of the 100-yard butterfly. In the final, Hennings finished with a time of 54.95.
• Borgerding earned a second top-five finish in the 100-yard breast stroke, in which the senior placed fifth with a time of 1:03.61. She finished in the fourth in prelims (1:03.68).
• Platts improved from second in prelims, to first in the 100-yard backstroke. Sullivan and Wohlert trailed behind Platts with eighth and ninth place finishes, respectively, in the same final.
• In the three-meter diving final, Kylie Moset was awarded 239.80 points to earn fifth place. Ashley White earned 185.60 points for an eight place finish.
• In the 800-yard freestyle relay final, Platts, Kellie House, Maddy Andrews, and Verbrugge finished in fourth with a time of 7:31.17

TOP-TEN FALCONS
• Lauren Sullivan, Kasie Perretta, Anna Eriksson, and Noelle Lavinge finished in eight place in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Falcon swimmers finished a time of 1:44.74.
• Emily Verbrugge finished sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:25.45. The senior improved from prelims, in which she placed eight with an end time of 4:27.18. In that same prelim, Mary Edwards finished behind Verbrugge in 10th with a time of 4:29.68.
• Maddy Andrews finished in seventh place in the 200-yard freestyle. The sophomore posted a finish time of 1:50.78; in prelims, she finished in eighth place with a time of 1:51.75.
