MAC Announces 2019 BGSU Football League Opponents
December 13, 2018 | Football
Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has announced home and away conference games for the 2019 MAC Football season. Along with previously announced non-conference opponents, BGSU Football now knows the 12 teams it will face during the 2019 regular season.
Bowling Green will host MAC East Division foes Akron and Ohio, as well as crossover home games against Central Michigan and Toledo. On the road, BGSU will play divisional rivals Buffalo, Kent State and Miami. The Falcons will also play at Western Michigan.
BGSU played all eight MAC opponents in 2018, finishing league play with a record of 2-6. Bowling Green defeated both Central Michigan and Akron on the road this year.
BGSU will open the 2019 season at home Aug. 29 against Morgan State before heading on the road to play Kansas State Sept. 7. The Falcons return back home the next week to host Louisiana Tech Sept. 14. BGSU's other non-conference game is a much-anticipated tilt at Notre Dame Oct. 5.
The Falcons have never played Notre Dame, but are 1-0 against Morgan State all-time. Kansas State won the only meeting between the two programs, back in 1997, and Louisiana Tech is 2-0 all-time against Bowling Green.
All dates for conference games will be announced by the MAC at a later time. Kick-off times for all 12 games will be available as the spring and summer progresses.
