Falcons Play First 18 Holes in Georgia

Statesboro, Ga. – BGSU Men's Golf concluded round one of the Georgia Southern Collegiate on Sunday hosted by Georgia Southern University. After a delay for storms, the Falcons played 18 holes in the first of two days in Georgia. BG competed with 11 other schools with a total of 49 athletes in the tournament, the invitational is individually scored only. Ohio State and Georgia Southern filled the top of the ranking sheet along with Falcons Nick Hofland and Pablo Heredia Iglesias. Coach John Powers looks forward to completing the tournament, "Today was a challenging test of our focus and execution. Two of our guys have a chance to win tomorrow with a great final round."

INDIVIDUAL STANDOUTS
- Sophomore Nick Hofland finished strong tied in seventh after the first 18 holes of play. Hofland shot even on 11 holes and totaled two birdies for the round.
- Pablo Heredia Iglesias also finished towards the top of the standings, carding a +4, while notching a -1 score on the par 5s.
- The youngest Falcon competing, Rodrigue Vie tallied two birdies on the day and owned one of four eagles shot in the tournament on the day.
