
Pardo Earns Point for the Falcons in MAC Play at Miami

HAMILTON, Ohio –Junior Vanesa Pardo earned the lone point for the Bowling Green tennis program (12-8, 4-3 MAC) in a 6-1 loss at Miami (9-8, 5-1 MAC) Saturday afternoon. In addition to Pardo's victory at No. 4 singles, the pairing of junior Paula Comella and freshman Marta Bettinelli also earned a win in competition at No. 1 doubles.

Statistical Standouts
- At No. 1 doubles, Comella and Bettinelli teamed up for the first time since the fall campaign and earned a 7-6 win over the RedHawks.
- Picking up a point for the Falcons was Pardo, as she earned her fifth victory on the season, and first at the No. 4 singles spot in the lineup. After dropping the opening set, Pardo quickly rebounded to handedly earn the match victory by scores of 6-3, and 6-4 in the second and third sets.
- A narrow match between the Falcons and the RedHawks, three of six singles matches went to decisive third sets.
- Making an appearance for the third time in the 2018 season was freshman Theresa Wassmann when she competed at No. 6 singles for the Orange and Brown, although fell by scores of 6-2.

- "We played well, but couldn't get past the strong team of Miami. Now it's time to get back to work to play the last match of the regular season next weekend and finish stronger than we started."
Up Next
- The Bowling Green tennis program will be back in action next Sunday, April 22 as it travels to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face Western Michigan in the regular season finale. The Falcons will then compete in the MAC Tournament in Muncie, Ind. from April 27-29.
