Falcons Halfway Through MAC Championships

Fort Wayne, Indiana – The BGSU Men's Golf Team concluded day one of the 2018 MAC Championships hosted by Ball State. Completing two of four rounds in day one, the Falcons sit in eighth place after 36 holes carding a total of 631, +55 with rounds of 306 and 325.

TEAM STANDINGS
- The tournament's host Ball State leads the field by four strokes, +19 after 36 holes.
- The Falcons sit in eighth place out of nine teams with +55 after two rounds.
- The Falcons stayed consistently ahead of Ohio throughout the first two rounds finishing 18 strokes lower than the Bobcats.
- Bowling Green finished the first 18 holes two strokes ahead of Northern Illinois and dropped just under NIU in a tight second round.

- T25 – Mitchell Kontak – 156, +12 (77, 79)

INDIVIDUAL STANDOUTS
- Leading the Falcons, Vie carded +2 in round one and a total of +10 over two rounds.
- Vie is tied in 15th place with MAC standout golfers Patrick Flavin and Brian Ohr, both of Miami.
- Both Vie and Kontak hold a total of five birdies in day one.
- Iglesias shot three birdies in a row in to card even in round one.
