Tennis' Coach Dalmacio to Attend Air Force Coaching Workshop
July 10, 2018 | Women's Tennis
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green tennis head coach Stephanie Dalmacio has been invited to attend the Air Force Recruiting Service Special Operations Tour coaching workshop from July 17-20 at the Center for the Intrepid in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Throughout the workshop, Coach Dalmacio will observe new Air Force recruits taking the Physical Aptitude and Stamina Test (PAST) to learn about the candidate development process, as well as taking part in several panel discussions.
The workshop will also include a Battlefield Airmen (BA) Prep Course including topics on science and technology used to optimize performance, physical therapy, nutrition, rehabilitation, and transitioning airmen into other careers. In addition to a Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) training experience and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) demonstration, Coach Dalmacio will observe a Special Operations Team demonstration on flight lines and will participate in a Q & A session with Special Operators.
It will be the second military-based coaching workshop Coach Dalmacio will participate in this summer as she attended the four-day Marine Corps Coaching Workshop in Quantico, Va. from May 16-19. For more information on her previous clinic of which she took part, click HERE.
The Bowling Green tennis program is coming off of a highly successful season in which the team made its first appearance in the MAC Tournament since 2014. Additionally, the Falcons had two First Team All-MAC athletes in juniors Paula Comella and Polina Radeva, for just the third time in program history. In just her second year at the helm of the program, Coach Dalmacio led the Falcons to its first wins over Ball State since 2013 and first win at Western Michigan and Akron since 2014. On the season, the Bowling Green tennis team registered its winningest season since 2013 by a 14-9 record, tied for third in the MAC by a 5-3 mark, and earned an outstanding home record of 8-1 at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
