2018-19 BGSU Women's Golf 2018-19 Schedule
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program has announced its complete 2018-19 schedule, head coach Stephanie Young announced on Wednesday (July 25) afternoon.
The Falcons will compete in five tournaments in the fall, before taking part in six events during the spring portion of the schedule. Bowling Green will play in six tournaments that also appeared on last season's schedule (not including the MAC Championships).
BGSU's spring schedule has a similar taste, as the Falcons open up the season with trips to the Redbird Invitational (Sept. 9-10) and the Cardinal Classic (Sept. 17-18). BGSU opened its 2017-18 season the exact same way. The Falcons will also compete in the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational (Oct. 8-9) after competing in the inaugural event last season.
The Bearkat Invitational (Oct. 1-2) and MAC Fall Preview (Oct. 14-15) round out the fall competition schedule. The MAC Fall Preview is being staged at the same location as this year's 2019 MAC Championships. Both events will be played in Noblesville, Indiana and hosted by Central Michigan.
The Falcons will host three events in the spring, beginning with the Spring Cup Challenge (Feb. 2) and the sixth-annual Mid-American Match Play Challenge (Feb. 4-5). Both events will take place in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
The Dolores Black Falcon Invitational (April 6-7) is in its ninth-year of existence, and returns to Stone Ridge Golf Club. The event leads directly into the MAC Championships, which will take place just two weeks later over April 19-21.
BGSU's other spring events include the Rio Verde Invitational (Feb. 22-24), which the Falcons competed in last spring, along with a brand-new event in the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate (March 24-25).
Coach Young's Thoughts On The 2018-19 Schedule
"We are very excited to release our 2018-19 schedule! There are two new events – the Bearkat Invitational and the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate. These events will allow us to see different teams from all over the country. In addition, we have the return of a MAC Fall Preview, which will help in preparation for the MAC Championships in April. Also, back on the schedule is the Spring Cup Challenge, which offers a fantastic competition opportunity going into the Mid-American Match Play Challenge.
"This year's schedule will provide our student-athletes with some of the best tournaments and courses in college golf, and I am looking forward to seeing them compete starting in September. I would encourage all our Falcon fans to put a few of these dates on the calendar. We would love to have your support. Go Falcons!"
