July 28, 2018 | Ice Hockey
Bloomington, Minn. – Five members of the Bowling Green State University hockey team were named Krampade All-American Scholars, as announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA). Senior Mitch McLain, sophomores Lukas Craggs and Freeric Letourneau, and freshmen Connor Ford and Carson Musser earned the honor.
Student-athletes must attain a 3.6 grade point average in each semester and participate in 40 percent of their school's games during the 2017-18 season.
"On behalf of the entire WCHA, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to these tremendous student-athletes," WCHA Commissioners Bill Robertson (men's league) and Katie Million (women's league) said in a joint statement. "College athletics is about the total package – playing the sport you love, while setting the foundation for post-graduate success. We are honored that the young men and women who compete in the WCHA represent their schools and league in such a remarkable fashion, both athletically and academically."
"We are extremely proud of this group of student-athletes who have competed at the highest levels of the game on the ice and matched that performance in the classroom," AHCA Executive Director Joe Bertagna said. "The sport demands a great deal from these athletes so it is a great statement they make, individually and collectively, with their ability to attain this level of academic achievement."
Season tickets are on sale now for the 2018-19 BGSU Hockey season. The Falcons have won at least 20 games in four consecutive seasons and will play 18 games at home at Slater Family Ice Arena. For more information on season tickets, CLICK HERE.
