BGSU now prepares for regular season-opening trip to Hawai'i

The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team closed the scrimmage portion of the 2018 schedule on Sunday night (Aug. 12), dropping a narrow 3-2 decision on the road to Wright State University.

Twenty different Falcons saw action for head coach Matt Fannon. BGSU outperformed WSU in nearly every statistical category in the match, but the Raiders got a goal in the 66th minute to snap a 2-2 tie, and that goal held up as the winner.

Senior Jennifer Reyes and junior Chelsee Washington scored the Falcons' goals, with all five goals in the game coming after halftime. Sophomore Sophia Barnes picked up an assist on the Reyes goal, while senior Erica Hubert assisted on Washington's marker.

The Falcons head to Hawai'i for a pair of matches to begin the regular-season slate. BGSU will meet Loyola Marymount on Friday (Aug. 17) before facing host Hawai'i (Aug. 19) next Sunday. The home opener is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, vs. Oakland.
