BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball program is set to host Oakland University inside of the Stroh Center on Tuesday, Aug. 28. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. The match marks Bowling Green's 2018 home opener.

MATCH PROMOTIONS
• Prior to the match, the program will unveil its banner from winning a share of the MAC's regular-season title last year in 2017.
• To go along with the theme, ring pops will be given to students in attendance.
• Additionally, free pizza will be given to students.

SCOUTING THE OAKLAND GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
• Oakland started the 2018 season by winning the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational last weekend.
• The Golden Grizzlies went 2-1 on the weekend. After dropping a five-set match to Liberty, OU picked up consecutive wins over Indiana State and Purdue Fort Wayne.
• Sophomore middle hitter Jamie Walling was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for her efforts over the weekend. She finished with 40 kills over the three matches, hitting .451 in the process.
• The Golden Grizzlies graduated four seniors from last year's team that went 17-12.
• Oakland is led by 12th-year head coach Rob Beam.

BOWLING GREEN IN HOME OPENERS
• Tuesday's match marks the eighth home opener in Stroh Center history. The Falcons are 3-4 in home openers at the Stroh Center all-time.
• BGSU's last win in the home opener came as recently as 2016. The Falcons swept VCU on Aug. 26, 2016.
• The Falcons are 2-4 in home openers under head coach Danijela Tomic, winning opening-day matches in 2012 (Ohio) and 2016 (VCU).

FALCONS OPEN 2018 SEASON AT PURDUE
• Last weekend, the Falcons played three matches on opening weekend in West Lafayette, Indiana at Purdue's Mortar Board Premier.
• Bowling Green dropped matches to Tulsa, Purdue and Wofford.
• Senior Kallie Seimet was named to the All-Tournament team, as she averaged 5.89 digs per set across the weekend.
• Freshman Katelyn Meyer led the Falcons in kills, averaging 10.0 kills per match over the first three matches of her collegiate career.
• Junior Isabelle Marciniak averaged 7.43 assists per set. Freshman Hanna Laube also saw time at setter, racking up 24 assists over four sets played.

• The Falcons head to Pittsburgh this weekend to take part in the Duquesne Tournament.
