
Bowling Green Continues Strong Performance In BGSU Invitational After Sweeping IUPUI

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team continues their strong performance in the BGSU Invitational after sweeping the IUPUI Jaguars three set to none.

There were some positives, I thought our defense played well, led by Kallie Seimet; Taylor and Paulina also did their jobs with double digit digs. Offensively, Maddie Brandewie was consistent again today, she had another good match, another efficient match."
HIGHLIGHTS
• IUPUI looked to snag the first set from the Falcons after Tomic's side allowed the Jaguars to score five consecutive points, bringing the score from 24-16 to 24-21
• The Falcons defeated IUPUI by a margin of 11 in the second set, and nine in the third for a decisive win against the Jaguars.
• After sweeping the Jaguars, Bowling Green extends their winning streak to three games, bringing their current record to 5-7
• The Falcons as a team ended the match with a hitting percentage of .180, and held IUPUI's offense to .053.
• Three Falcons ended the match with double digit digs. Kallie Seimet led the pack with 27, 12 for Paulina Iacobelli, and 11 for Taylor Haberland
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
• Middle hitter Madeline Brandewie led the Falcons offensive efforts with 11 kills, bringing her hitting percentage for the night to .286.
• In the three sets, Setter Isabelle Marciniak registered 29 of the team's 34 total assists.
• Kallie Seimet surpassed the 250 mark in digs this season in the Falcons' win over IUPUI. The libero is can reach the 300 mark against Nicholls State if she tallies at least 27 digs.
UP NEXT
• The Falcons will close the BGSU Invitational Tournament tomorrow at noon against the Nicholls State Colonels. After the BGSU Invitational, the Falcons will travel to New York to kick-off the MAC conference against Buffalo on Sept. 21, and Akron on Sept. 22.
