Bowling Green Wins BGSU Invitational Tournament After Sweeping Nicholls State

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team complete back-to-back sweeps with their victory (3-0) over the Nicholls State Colonels on Saturday.
Coach Tomic selected Madeline Brandewie and Isabelle Marciniak to be featured on the BGSU Invitational All-Tournament Team, and named Kallie Seimet as the tournament MVP.

HIGHLIGHTS
• After sweeping the Colonels, the Falcons' overall record improves to 6-7 just before the start of Mid-American Conference play.
• The Falcons held the Colonels to a negative hitting percentage in the second (-.121) and third (-.118) set, and -.019 overall.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
• Madeline Brandewie, Katie Kidwell, and Jacqueline Askin all contributed five kills to the team's attacking efforts and ended the match with astonishing hit percentages. Against Nicholls State, Brandewie swung at .625, Kidwell hit at .455, and Askin notched a .357 hitting percentage.
• In three sets, setter Isabelle Marciniak registered 16 assists. Hanna Laube came on in the third set and put up eight assists for her teammates.
• Libero Kallie Seimet needs only 13 more digs to reach the 300 mark this season. In the most recent NCAA ranking summary for volleyball, Kallie Seimet was third in the nation for most amount of digs with 246, and also came in third in digs per set with an average of 6.15.

The Falcons will travel to New York to kick-off the MAC conference against Buffalo on Sept. 21.
