Falcons Open 2018 Season At Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational

Henryville, IN – The BGSU Men's Golf team will open its 2018 fall season this weekend in the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational hosted by Indiana University and will be played at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville, Indiana.

"This tournament has moved to a new venue and we are looking forward to seeing how we handle the test. Champions Pointe is the first of five great golf courses on our schedule for the fall season. Corey and I are very excited about the depth of experience this team has, our seniors led the way in fall qualifying. We return 5 players with MAC Championship experience who know how to navigate their way around challenging layouts."
Playing Field:
• The Falcons are one of 13 teams that will be participating along with Indiana (host), Bethune Cookman, Evansville, Georgetown, IUPUI, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Illinois, Toledo, Western Illinois, Western Kentucky and Youngstown State.
• The invitational will include two rounds at par 72 with a total of 7,174 yards. The teams will tee off Saturday morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and play 36 holes. On Sunday they will play 18 holes with an 8:30 a.m. start off #1 and #10 tees.

Falcons Lineup:
1. Trey Walker, a senior, played in 10 tournaments for the Falcons, had an average score of 76.46. His best finish was at the MTSU Intercollegiate Tournament where he tied for 5th.
2. Noah Firestone, a redshirt junior, posted a stroke average of 76.33 across three rounds of action in the 2016-17 season.
3. Max Rispler, a redshirt senior, appeared in 8 tournaments for the Falcons last season with an average score of 76.67.
4. Rodrigue Vie, a sophomore, was in the Falcon lineup for 9 tournaments with an average score of 74.44. Concluded the season last year with a top 15 finish at the Mid-American Confrence Golf Championship.
5. Pablo Heredia, a senior, posted a stroke average of 76 and appeared in all 10 tournaments for the Falcons last season. Had two top ten finishes last year at the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational and the Georgia Southern Individual Collegiate Tournament finishing tied for 8th at both.
Playing as an individual: Nick Hofland, a junior, appeared in seven tournaments for the Falcons with an average score of 76.21. His best finish was at the MTSU Intercollegiate Tournament where he tied for 12th.

The Falcons will head down to Hattiesburg, Mississippi where they will take part in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Southern Mississippi University on September 17 and 18.
