MAC Announce Tennis Preseason Poll - Falcons Picked To Finish Fourth

Bowling Green, Ohio – The 2019 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women's tennis preseason poll was announced on Jan. 11. The Bowling Green Falcons are predicted to finish fourth behind Buffalo (62 votes), Akron (54 votes), and Miami (48 votes). The Falcons received 32 total votes, and are expected to finish ahead of Western Michigan, Ball State, Toledo, and Northern Illinois.

FALCON TENNIS BACK IN ACTION
The Bowling Green State University tennis program will resume their 2018-19 schedule near the Ohio River where the team will face the Xavier Musketeers in Cincinnati on Jan. 19, and the Louisville Cardinals in Louisville, Ky. on Jan. 20.
BEFORE THE BREAK
The Falcon Tennis Program have not competed since October. The Orange and Brown were last in action in Ann Arbor, Mich., where they faced a series of Midwestern programs in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships.
The Falcons saw junior Marharita-Sophia Tavpash and sophomore Marta Bettinelli advance as far as the round of 16 in singles in singles qualifiers, and senior Paula Comella advance to the second round of the Main Singles Draw. Comella and Tavpash were automatically qualified for the Main Doubles Draw, where the Falcon pair fell to Northwestern pair and No. 4 seed Rheeya Doshi and Julie Byrne by a score of 8-5 in the quarterfinals.
UP NEXT
The Falcons will face Notre Dame on Wednesday, Jan. 23, and Bellarmine on Feb. 3 in road matches. The Orange and Brown's first home match of 2019 will take place on Feb. 8 versus the Saint Louis Billikens.
