
Back In The Water: Swimming And Diving Travel To EMU Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team will be back in action after a three week hiatus on Saturday Jan. 26. The Falcons will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on Mid-American Conference rival Eastern Michigan. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET. Bowling Green will make the trip with a 7-2 record on the season, 1-0 in conference play with a win coming against Ball State.
Strong Start
The Falcons jumped right in to start the season, opening with seven straights wins. The season began with wins over Saint Francis, Findlay, and Northern Michigan and served as a foundation for the season. The Orange and Brown continued to build on the momentum, capturing wins over Ball State, Xavier, Michigan State, and Youngstown State. On Saturday, Jan. 5, Bowling Green went up against Florida Gulf Coast and Liberty, falling short to both, resulting in a 7-2 record thus far on the season. This season, the Falcons have been led by Daisy Platts and Talisa Lemke, who have both sustained first place finished in consecutive meets.
Examining The Eagles
Eastern Michigan will be entering the competition with a 6-0 overall, with three of the wins being in MAC play. The Eagles have bested Toledo, Ohio, and Buffalo within the conference. Their other victories have come against Wayne State, Oakland, and Denison. Most recently, Eastern Michigan hosted Buffalo, winning with a final score of 159-141. In the meet, the Eagles were led by junior Casey Gavigan and senior Nicole Swartz, who each captured victories in multiple events.
