Tavpash, Bettinelli Claim Third Doubles Title Of Fall At Cincy Invite

Cincinnati, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University tennis program saw Marharita-Sophia Tavpash and Marta Bettinelli top the doubles list once again this season, this time at the UC/Pam Whitehead Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Falcons have now played in three invitationals this fall with the duo of Tavpash and Bettinelli capturing a title for doubles at each.Â

Day Two Summary
- Tavpash and Bettinelli dominated again in doubles play, topping both Xavier and Chattanooga, 6-4 and 7-5 respectively. The two wins moved the duo to 3-0 on the weekend, resulting in 18 points and the event title for doubles. In the previous two fall tournaments that BGSU has participated in, Tavpash and Bettinelli won their flights, giving them a perfect record thus far in doubles heading into next week's ITA Regionals.
- Freshman Joanna Tsadari picked up the lone singles win of the day for the Orange and Brown, coming back against Cincinnati's Caroline Morton after falling in the first set 6-4. Tsadari took the second set 6-3 before securing the win in the third set by a score of 10-7.Â
