>>FALCONS ON TAP
- The Bowling Green State University hockey team will take on the Broncos of Western Michigan University of the NCHC this weekend in a home-and-home series.
- This continues a series of three in a row against Western Michigan. The Falcons played WMU in their second game of last week's Ice Breaker Tournament at the Huntington Center. These are the only scheduled meetings this regular season between the Falcons and Broncos.
>>VERSUS WESTERN MICHIGAN
- All-time the Bowling Green Falcons hold a 72-61-8 advantage over the Broncos of Western Michigan. This home-and-home series will be the final two of three straight regular season games between these two squads in three different venues. This due to what transpired in the Ice Breaker Tournament last week. BGSU was already scheduled to play Western this upcoming weekend.
- Last year Bowling Green swept the two game season series by final scores of 6-2 in Kalamazoo, and 4-1 in BG. Most recently the Falcons fell to the Broncos to close the Ice Breaker last Saturday (Oct. 12) night 5-2.
 >>LAST TIME OUT
- Bowling Green hosted the 2019 Ice Breaker Tournament last weekend at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. The Falcons fell to the RIT Tigers on Friday night (Oct. 11) in game one of the tourney by a final score of 3-2 in a game that needed overtime to decide a winner. BG struck first with a goal in the first period from sophomore Evan Dougherty. Casey Linkenheld extended the lead in the second period, but RIT would go on to score just 34 seconds later. The Tigers netted the game winning goal a little over a minute into the first overtime period.
- The Falcons would fall to the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday night (Oct. 12) to conclude the weekend. The final score of the contest was 5-2. Western Michigan struck first in the first period followed by a goal by Bowling Green early in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. The Broncos would run off three unanswered goals, creating a deficit that ended up being too steep to overcome for BGSU.
 >>IMAGINE MEETING YOU HERE
- By the end of this upcoming series, Bowling Green and Western Michigan will have played each other in three straight games. This is a rare occurrence as this will be just the fourth time in program history that the Falcons have played one opponent three or more straight times during the regular season. Most recently Bowling Green played Ferris State University four straight times over two weekends in February of the 2014-15 season. Prior to that, the Orange and Brown played three straight games at Alaska Fairbanks in November of the 1997-98 and 1995-96 seasons.
>>STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
- After being scoreless in 13 games last year, sophomore Evan Dougherty has 2 goals in three games to begin the 2019-20 campaign. Friday (Oct. 11) night marked the third consecutive season that BGSU has had a player score at least one goal in the first two games of the season. Tim Theocharidis, Connor Ford and Casey Linkenheld all did it last year (2018-19) with Cameron Wright doing so to begin the 2017-18 season. Adam Conquest recorded an assist on Dougherty's goal. He and fellow freshman T.J. Lloyd are the only two newcomers to tally a point so far this year.
- Saturday (Oct. 12) night against the Broncos saw a duo of sophomores score their first goals of the season for the Falcons with Tim Theocharidis and Taylor Schneider finding the scoring column. Senior alternate captain Frederic Letourneau tallied his first points of the season in the contest with a couple of assists. Sophomore Sam Craggs recorded his first point of the season assisting Schneider on his goal.
- Cameron Wright tallied his first career hat trick on the way to four goals tallied in Bowling Green's win over Miami (Oct. 6). It was his first time scoring multiple goals in game for BGSU. He is the first Falcon to net four goals in a game since James Unger scored four times in a 7-5 loss at Nebraska-Omaha on March 3, 2007.
