I knew BGSU was the school for me after I talked to the coaches and visited the campus for the first time. The hockey atmosphere and the campus environment was truly something special. This university is a family and everyone welcomed me with open arms.
The most exciting game I have played in at BGSU was last year at the NCAA tournament against Minnesota Duluth. It had been 29 years since we have made the tournament and the build up for that game was awesome.
I wake up around 7 in the morning and drive to the rink for morning lift. We typically have on ice practice around 9:30 and it ends a little before 11. After practice I stretch out and hot tub before I head home. I’ll do homework, go to class, and and then usually hang out and watch hockey the rest of the night. I’ll eat before and after practice and then have a couple more meals throughout the evening.
My goals for my BGSU athletic career were to play in as many games as possible and prove to people I belong in college hockey. After having a successful freshman season, I wanted to become a dominant player in the NCAA and show people I can play at the next level. I think I have met my goals, but I am always looking to improve as a player and as a person.
Following graduation I want to play in the NHL. I have been dreaming about playing in the NHL my entire life and it is one of my goals still left to complete. After my hockey career ends I would want to get a marketing/sales position for a major hockey company.
