October 09, 2019 | Women's Tennis
Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University tennis program will travel south on I-75 to Cincinnati this weekend to participate in the UC/Pam Whitehead Invitational at Trabert/Talbert Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. In addition to the Bearcats, the Falcons will face Xavier and Chattanooga. A full schedule of events is listed below with all times tentative based on the pace of play.Â
Last Time Out
Bowling Green most recently took part in the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. At the invitational, the Falcons saw two third place finishes for singles play brackets while Marharita-Sophia Tavpash and Marta Bettinelli captured their second doubles bracket title in as many invitationals after also winning their bracket at the BGSU Invitational the weekend before. The invitational in Cincinnati will serve as the third of the season for Bowling Green.Â
Scouting Cincinnati
Cincinnati also took part in the Purdue Invitational, seeing two of their singles players go undefeated over the weekend. The Bearcats also competed in the Hoosier Classic, taking place two weeks ago, coming away with multiple victories in both singles and doubles.Â
Scouting Chattanooga
Like Cincinnati, Chattanooga has participated in two invitationals so far this season, being the Austin Peay Fall Tournament and the Central Arkansas Fall Invite, as well as hosting the Chattanooga Alumni Match. Over the two invitationals, the Mocs have had a few top three finishes in both singles and doubles.Â
Scouting Xavier
Like Chattanooga, Xavier competed in the Hoosier Classic to open their fall schedule, where they performed well in both singles and doubles. From there, the Musketeers took part in the Viking Invitational, hosted by Cleveland State.Â
