Head Coach Ty Eigner's Take
- On getting such a fast start with the long travel and carrying it through to the end, "I would agree that our first period was really good. On a trip out here to Alaska you don't know what you're going to get in the first period, so we were really happy with how we started. We played really sound, and had a bunch of opportunities. I think the guys knew what we were coming up here for. We respected Anchorage for sure knowing that they're improved over last year. If you look at our first two periods, we had 12 shots in the first, and 17 in the second with shots being 29 to 10 after two periods, so we were playing really good. We had some opportunities in the second where their goaltender made some really good saves, and we could have extended that lead. In the third period we knew that they were going to compete. They didn't stop, so you need to give them credit for how hard they played. I think the key was us just knowing that we were coming up here and just knowing that we were going to play an opponent that's improved. We needed to be ready".
- Bowling Green will face-off with Alaska Anchorage once more in this series on Saturday (Nov. 16) night. Game two will start two hours earlier at 9:07 PM eastern time.
