>>FALCONS ON TAP
- The Bowling Green State University hockey team will continue WCHA play this weekend with a two game series against the Seawolves of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- These will be the first two of four scheduled regular season meetings between BGSU and UAA. The Seawolves travel to Bowling Green in February.
- Both games of this series will take place in the Seawolf Sports Complex on Friday (Nov. 15) and Saturday (Nov. 16) night. Friday's game will be at 11:07 PM eastern time, and Saturday's game will begin two hours earlier at 9:07 PM eastern time.
>>VERSUS ALASKA ANCHORAGE
- All-time, Bowling Green holds a 14-3-3 advantage over Alaska Anchorage, including a 12-3-3 mark since joining the WCHA following the 2012-13 season.
- Over the last two seasons, the Falcons are unbeaten against the Seawolves. During the 2017-18 season BGSU played UAA four times posting a pair of sweeps (4-0-0). Last season Bowling Green only played two against UAA venturing to Alaska almost exactly a year ago (Nov. 8-9, 2018). They tied the first game 0-0 taking the extra league point in double OT. BGSU won the second game of the series by a final score of 3-0.
 >>LAST TIME OUT
- Prior to their bye last weekend, Bowling Green most recently traveled to Mankato to take on the Mavericks of Minnesota State in a two game series.
- The Orange and Brown defeated Minnesota State in overtime on Friday (Nov. 1) night by a final score of three to two. Shots on goal finished even at 33-33. MSU got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period before Bowling Green tallied three unanswered goals over the course of the contest to win it. Alec Rauhauser scored before the end of the first period, with Cameron Wright tallying the tying goal early in the second period. The two squads battled to overtime where the Falcons drew a power play opportunity. Junior forward Connor Ford found the back of the net to win it for the Falcons. With this win, BGSU handed No. 1 (then No. 2) Minnesota State their only loss of the season thus far.
- Bowling Green then split their weekend series dropping Saturday (Nov. 2) night's game by a final score of five to one. Shots on goal ended 30 to 24 in slight favor of MSU. The Mavericks struck in the first period before senior captain Alec Rauhauser answered for BGSU with his fourth goal of the season. The Mavericks took a one goal lead into the second period where the Falcons held close throughout. Minnesota State would pull away in the third period.
Â
- Senior captain of the Falcons Alec Rauhauser tallied three points in BGSU's series against Minnesota State, including one goal and one assist in the OT win on Friday (Nov. 1). He is just three points away from reaching 100 in his career with the Orange and Brown. If he crosses the century mark he will be the 72nd player in BG Falcon Hockey program history to do so, and the first since Mitch McLain during the 2017-18 season. It is believed that he would also be the first defenseman to reach 100 points since Kelly Perrault who played from 1993-97.Â
- Alec Rauhauser's play early this season earned him WCHA Defenseman of the Month honors for October. He was one of the scoring leaders for Bowling Green in October with seven points on two goals and five assists. Rauhauser tallied three points in BGSU's win at Miami on Oct. 6 and scored a point in each of the Falcons' games against RIT (Oct. 11), Western Michigan (Oct. 18-19) and Michigan Tech (Oct. 25). His seven points were the most among defensemen in the WCHA for the month, and tied for sixth among all scorers. He also recorded seven blocks on the month. As of now he also leads the Falcons in plus/minus. This was Alec Rauhauser's fifth career Defenseman of the Month honor. He is the first WCHA monthly award winner for the Orange and Brown of the 2019-20 campaign.
 >>STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
- Cameron Wright continued his early season hot streak against Minnesota State tallying the game tying goal in the second period of Bowling Green's 3-2 OT upset win over the Mavericks (Nov. 1). The junior from Newmarket, Ontario continues to lead the Falcons in goals scored with six.
- Connor Ford lit the lamp on a power play in overtime to win it for the Falcons in their victory over MSU (Nov. 1). The junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. leads the squad in man advantage scoring so far this season with three power play goals. Last season Ford was tied for first power play scoring on the roster and nationally by the end of the year with his teammate Max Johnson (10).
- Alec Rauhauser tallied Bowling Green's second shorthanded goal of the season in game two against Minnesota State (Nov. 2). BGSU is tied for fourth in shorthanded scoring nationally.
