UP NEXT FOR THE FALCONS...
• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team, after opening the season with a pair of wins, puts that 2-0 record on the line Monday night (Nov. 18). Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons face Notre Dame College, with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
• Then, the Brown and Orange will hit the road for the next eight games, beginning with a weekend trip to face Valparaiso University. That matchup is scheduled for Sunday afternoon (Nov. 24).
THE STARTING FIVE (FIVE FASCINATING FALCON FACTS)
• The Falcons built a huge lead last Saturday afternoon (Nov. 9), and BG went on to a 79-65 win over Morehead State at the Stroh. The Falcons have averaged 84.0 points per game in the season's two victories.
• The MSU result came less than 72 hours after BG rallied from an early 10-point deficit to defeat Cleveland State, 89-62, in the season opener (Nov. 6). In that win, three Falcons scored 20 or more points, another flirted with a triple-double, and still another fell just one steal short of matching the school record.
• Fourth-year Falcon Caterrion Thompson has returned to form after missing the entire 2018-19 season due to injury. Thompson scored 20 points vs. CSU, falling just one point shy of matching her career high. Then, she had a game-high 20 points against MSU. Thompson is shooting 51.5 percent from the field through the first two games.
• Junior Madisen Parker exploded for a career-high 25 points vs the Vikings, going 7-of-11 from three-point range on the night. Parker shattered her previous career bests of 16 points and four successful triples. Then, she knocked down three more shots from behind the arc against the Eagles. Parker is 10-of-18 (.556) from downtown this season to date.
• Sophomore Kadie Hempfling filled the stat sheet vs. the Vikes, scoring six points, pulling down 13 rebounds and dishing out a career-high 10 assists. Hempfling became the first Falcon with a double-digit assist total in nearly nine years (Tracy Pontius vs. Cal State Fullerton; Dec. 4, 2010).
A QUICK LOOK AT THE (NOTRE DAME COLLEGE) FALCONS
• Notre Dame is 3-0 on the season, with wins over Winston-Salem State, Livingstone and Mercyhurst. Monday's game is an exhibition for the NDC Falcons, who are led in scoring by Seina Adachi. Adachi – who has been named to the All-Mountain East Conference First Team in each of the last two years – has 19.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while Jada Marone is averaging 14.0 ppg, and three other players have at least 8.0 ppg to date. Lauren Macer is in her third year as head coach at her alma mater. Last season, she guided the Falcons to a 15-14 overall record and a mark of 12-10 in the MEC.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons and Notre Dame College have never met in women's basketball.
DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the Notre Dame clash, BGSU will play eight-straight games away from home, beginning with a contest at Valparaiso on Sunday, Nov. 24.
• Then, the Falcons head to British Columbia for three games in the Victoria Invitational over the Thanksgiving holiday. BG's first game in Canada is against Green Bay on Thanksgiving Day.
