Dop, Kidwell Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Eric Dop and volleyball player Katie Kidwell.

Male Athlete of the Week
Eric Dop, a junior from Lewis Center, Ohio backstopped to the Falcons to their first WCHA sweep of the season. He saved 44-of-45 shots on goal, posted a GAA of 0.50 and a save percentage of .978. On Saturday (Nov. 16) he recorded his first shutout of the 2019-20 campaign, making all 29 saves. This was his fourth career shutout for Dop, and his third in the state of Alaska after shutting out both UAA and Alaska Fairbanks on the road last year.

Female Athlete of the Week

Katie Kidwell, a junior from Watseka, Ill., rattled off 34 kills for the Falcons in wins over Miami and Northern Illinois. Registering 20 against the Huskies, Kidwell matched her career-high for kills while also maintaining a .545 hitting percentage. Not only did Kidwell hit .545 against NIU, but sustained a .429 hitting percentage the entirety of the weekend. Kidwell also chipped in seven blocks to increase her career totals to 326 block assists and 384 total blocks, both of which are in the top 10 all-time in program history for Bowling Green.
