BG Tennis Tops Cleveland State At Buffalo Indoor Invite

Buffalo, N.Y. - The Bowling Green State University tennis program took on Cleveland State during the second day of the Buffalo Indoor Invite. The Falcons were able to capture a doubles win on top of taking three of the five singles matches for a win over the Vikings. The tournament, and fall season, will conclude on Sunday as Bowling Green faces Buffalo.Â

Day Two Notes
- Senior Marharita-Sophia Tavpash is now 2-0 in singles play at the Buffalo Indoor Invite, topping athletes from Rutgers and Cleveland State.
- With career singles win number 51, Tavpash takes sole possession of 27th all-time. The win is also 121 for her career, combined, tying Tavpash with Patty Bank for 24th all-time.
- Ayumi Sasaki needs just one more singles win to move onto the top 30 list for career singles wins, currently standing with 46.Â
- Yulia Kapitanova also picked up a singles win for Bowling Green, taking the first set 6-3 and following it up with a 6-2 performance to clinch the win.Â
