Lemke Breaks Another School Record As Falcons Finish Day Two At Magnus Cup
November 23, 2019 | Women's Swimming & Diving
Cleveland, Ohio – Talisa Lemke set another program diving record as the Bowling Green State University swim and dive team continued competing at Cleveland State University's Magnus Cup. The senior scored a 373.50 in the preliminary round of the 3 meter dive, breaking the school record of 372.00 she set in 2018. Like her score in yesterday's 1 meter dive, this is the new Magnus Cup and Busbey Natatorium record. Lemke took first in the finals, scoring 336.70. This was Lemke's second victory of the weekend, marking the third time this season she has swept the diving events.

Daisy Platts carried her record-breaking momentum from day one into the second day, winning both of her individual events. She took first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:20.95, the fifth-fastest time in school history. She also won the 100-yard backstroke in 53.84 seconds, the second-fastest time in school history. Platts now owns five of the school's top ten times in the 100-yard backstroke.
Platts was one of three Falcon swimmers to finish in the top ten in the 100-yard backstroke. Junior Lauren Sullivan touched the wall in 55.80 seconds to earn third place, and freshman Kate Lochridge finished in 57.54 seconds to take seventh place.
For the second consecutive day, the Falcon relays gave BGSU a huge boost in points. The 200-yard medley relay team of Platts, Taylor Harris, Sarah Hennings, and Anna Eriksson claimed first with a time of 1:43.33. This is the second Magnus Cup relay victory for the quartet after winning yesterday's 400-yard medley relay. In the same race, Sullivan, Julianna Petrak, Lochridge, and Noelle Lavigne finished in 1:46.35 to earn fifth place for the Orange and Brown. In the evening's final event, the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Shaunna Jones, Kellie House, Maddy Andrews, and Daisy Platts took third place with a time of 7:37.57.
The Falcons also saw a pair of top-five finishers in the 100-yard butterfly. Sarah Hennings finished in 54.99 seconds to claim second place. Anna Eriksson took fifth, touching the wall in 55.79 seconds. Those times both qualify for top ten in school history, with Hennings securing the fourth-fastest time and Eriksson obtaining the tenth-fastest time. Freshman Callie Legere scored a personal-best 255.35 in the 3 meter diving finals to claim eighth place.
Through two days of events, the Falcons have scored 633.50 team points. With a day remaining in the competition, BGSU is in fourth place of 13 teams.
